Privacy Policy
Effective 8 May 2026
1. Who we are
TEEDAY is operated by Stradbrook Software Ltd, a company registered in Ireland (company number 503601) with its registered office at 12 Priory Office Park, Stillorgan Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin A94 N2V3. In this policy "TEEDAY", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Stradbrook Software Ltd.
We are the data controller for personal data collected through the TEEDAY mobile application and our websites at teeday.ie and teeday.golf.
For privacy enquiries, contact us at hello@teeday.ie.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data TEEDAY collects, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to your use of the TEEDAY mobile app and our websites.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
- Mobile phone number. Required to create an account. We use it to send authentication codes by SMS so you can sign in securely. Your phone number is also your unique account identifier within TEEDAY.
- Display name. Shown to other members of any golf society you join. You choose what to display.
- Society membership. The golf society or societies you belong to within the app.
- Event participation. When you sign up for or play in a society event, we record your participation, scoring data, and any related notes.
- Scorecard photos. If you upload a photo of a paper scorecard, we store the image to associate it with the event.
- Sponsor information. If your society uploads sponsor names or logos, those details are stored against the society.
- Communications. If you contact us by email or in-app, we keep a record of the correspondence.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Device tokens. If you opt in to push notifications, we store the device token issued by Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver notifications about your events.
- Operational logs. Our servers record technical information about app and website usage, including IP address, app version, device type, operating system version, request timestamps, and error data. We use these logs to operate, secure, and debug the service.
- App diagnostics. The app may send anonymous crash reports and performance data to help us diagnose problems.
3.3 Information we do not collect
TEEDAY does not access your phone's contacts, calendar, or photo library beyond the specific scorecard photo you choose to upload. We do not collect precise location data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
4. How we use your information
We use the data described above to:
- Provide the core TEEDAY service — running golf society events, recording scores, displaying results, and communicating relevant updates to society members.
- Authenticate you when you sign in (via SMS one-time codes).
- Send transactional notifications about events you are part of, draws being made, results being published, and similar.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the app and our infrastructure.
- Investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
- Respond to your enquiries or support requests.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or for sale to third parties.
5. Legal basis for processing
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the service you have signed up for. Processing your phone number, display name, society membership, and event data is necessary for us to deliver TEEDAY to you.
- Legitimate interests — to operate the service securely, prevent abuse, debug technical issues, and improve the product. We balance these interests against your privacy rights.
- Consent — for optional features such as push notifications, where we ask you to opt in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose data to comply with applicable law.
6. Who we share information with
We share personal data with the following categories of recipient, only to the extent necessary:
- Other members of your golf society. Within the app, members of a society can see one another's display names, event participation, and scoring results. This is core to how a golf society operates.
- Society administrators (captains and secretaries). Have additional access to organise events, manage membership, and view records for the society they administer.
- Infrastructure providers. We host TEEDAY on Amazon Web Services (AWS), in the EU (Ireland) region. AWS processes data on our behalf as a sub-processor under appropriate data processing agreements.
- SMS provider. Authentication codes are delivered using AWS End User Messaging (Amazon SNS / Pinpoint) in the EU region. Your phone number is processed by this service for the sole purpose of delivering your code.
- Push notification services. If you opt in, push notifications are delivered via Apple Push Notification service (Apple Inc., USA) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC, USA). These services receive only an anonymous device token and the notification content, not your name or phone number.
- Service providers. Other operational service providers (such as error reporting, infrastructure monitoring) who process limited data on our behalf under written agreements.
- Legal and regulatory recipients. Where we are required by law, court order, or regulator to disclose information.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.
7. Where your data is stored
TEEDAY infrastructure is hosted in the European Union (AWS, Dublin region). Your account data, event data, and scorecard data is stored within the EU.
Some service providers (notably Apple and Google for push notifications) are based outside the EU. These transfers are governed by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the European Commission, and the data shared with them is limited to what is strictly necessary for the service.
8. How long we keep it
- Account data. Retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
- Society and event data. Retained for as long as the society uses TEEDAY, so that historical records (such as past results and Golfer of the Year standings) are available. If you leave a society, your historical participation in past events remains in the society's record so that results are not retroactively altered, but your account and current personal details are unaffected.
- Operational and security logs. Retained for up to 90 days in normal circumstances.
- Communications with us. Retained for up to 24 months after the last contact.
- Authentication codes. One-time codes are stored only for the few minutes needed to verify them, then deleted.
9. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to limited exceptions.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format, where the processing is based on consent or contract.
- Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data while a query is being resolved.
- Object — object to processing carried out under our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — withdraw any consent you have given (for example, push notifications) at any time, without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@teeday.ie. We will respond within one month, as required by law.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ireland, which is the lead supervisory authority for TEEDAY: www.dataprotection.ie.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS / TLS) for all communication between the app, our website, and our servers.
- Encryption at rest for stored data, using AWS-managed encryption services.
- Access controls, so only authorised personnel and systems can access production data.
- Regular review of our infrastructure and security configuration.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we encourage you to keep your phone secured (with a PIN, passcode, or biometric lock) and to alert us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your TEEDAY account.
11. Children
TEEDAY is intended for adult users (18 and over). We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@teeday.ie and we will delete the data without delay.
12. Cookies and tracking
Our marketing website at teeday.ie does not use cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics that identify you personally. If we add privacy-friendly analytics in future, we will update this policy and clearly disclose the change.
The TEEDAY mobile app does not use web cookies. The app stores a small amount of data on your device (such as your authenticated session token) to keep you signed in.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the service evolves or as the law changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
Continued use of TEEDAY after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
